JERSEY CITY
Adaptive-Reuse Residential
The Saint Lofts are the perfect blend of classical architecture and modern comfort. Devino Architects is proud to have designed this project as it is one of the first adaptive re-use projects in the Bergen-Lafayette area of Jersey City. The Saint Lofts is a 25 unit condominium building that was converted from the 19th Century All Saints Schoolhouse. With designing adaptive re-use, each unit is unique. In fitting in the mold of the existing structure, we were able to include a combination of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units including duplexes and lofts.
Upon entering the lobby, visitors will be greeted with the original terrazzo floors and bronze doors. Many of the original architectural features have been preserved to retain the historical charm and style that cannot be duplicated today. The building kept its original frame with extensive renovations completed inside, including the addition of a second floor that was once an open space part of the school’s gymnasium. The stairs from the school remain in place, along with a stained glass window on the front of the building.
